Setting up the keyboard is a breeze. The iPad Pro comes with magnets in it that you can attach the keyboard with. You don’t need to plug it in, you don’t need to sync it through Bluetooth or anything.
Just click the magnets together and you’ll be able to start typing instantly. It uses minimal battery life, so you don’t have to worry about it draining energy like you would with some accessories.
It does more than just act as a keyboard, though. Since the iPad doesn’t have a kickstand built into it or anything like that for standing up, the keyboard includes a folded point in which you can turn it into a kickstand to prop it up while you’re typing.
Once you’re done, it all folds together nicely, protecting both the screen and the backside from scratches, dust, and debris. The smart keyboard even gives the iPad information about when to sleep and when to wake up.
When closed, much like a standard laptop, it goes to sleep automatically in order to help save battery life and to help prevent any accidental key presses. When opened, the iPad will automatically wake up, allowing you to spend less time holding down the power button and more time working.
